Cocoa Live Plant - Theobroma Cacao Chocolate Tree. Theobroma cacao, also called the chocolate tree, is supplied as a young live nursery plant. Mature fruit images show potential development, not the plant at dispatch.
Plant details and growing expectations
Mature trees can develop ribbed pods directly on the trunk and older branches. Pods contain seeds used to make cocoa after processing; fruiting depends on growing conditions.
Growing conditions and care
Provide partial shade or filtered light, fertile well-drained soil and steady moisture without waterlogging. Protect young growth from harsh direct sun, cold and drying winds.
Suitable for sheltered home gardens, humid backyards and tropical farms with shade. Ground planting is preferred for long-term growth; exposed terraces are not ideal.
Arrival and plant presentation
The live plant arrives in a nursery growing bag. Appearance varies naturally with season and growth stage; inspect foliage and growing medium after arrival and acclimatise gently.
Common questions
Will the plant arrive with fruit?
