Egg Fruit Canistel Live Plant. Canistel (Pouteria campechiana) is an evergreen fruit tree grown for its distinctive edible fruit. The offer is for a young live plant, not a mature fruiting tree.
Plant details and growing expectations
Established Canistel trees can produce yellow to orange-yellow fruits with dense, sweet pulp often compared to cooked egg yolk. Fruit shape and production vary with growing conditions.
Growing conditions and care
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Keep young plants adequately watered while establishing, but avoid prolonged waterlogging. Protect young trees from damaging cold.
Choosing a growing location
Suitable for spacious home gardens, backyards and orchards in warm climates. Plant in the ground with room for a mature tree; small balconies and compact pots are not recommended.
Arrival and plant presentation
The plant supplied is a young nursery sapling. Its foliage and appearance may vary naturally, and it will need suitable planting conditions and time to establish after delivery.
Common questions
